Abstract

Hamiltonian simulation is a domain where quantum computers have the potential to outperform their classical counterparts and is the focal point of current research at many quantum companies, to showcase the performance of their latest quantum computers. In this talk, we’ll discuss a powerful approach called “Quantum Signal Processing (QSP)”- that unifies all quantum algorithms and can be used to prepare ground states of Hamiltonians. We’ll compare it with the other state of the art methods and also discuss how well it performs on a currently available, digital quantum computer. Thereby, I will present to you the results of the first ever hardware implementation of QSP for ground state preparation.
