The application security and cryptography group at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts has several open positions to work on applied research projects in classical and quantum cryptography:

The successful candidates will be part of a small, but growing research team in Rotkreuz, Switzerland. Our research activities include

  • Study practical Quantum Key Distribution and Quantum Random Number Generation protocols, analyze their security and develop secure and efficient alternative protocols.
  • Integrate quantum and post-quantum-cryptographic solutions into existing IT systems
  • Implement secure applications using multi-party computation protocols
  • Actively collaborate with our research partners from academia (University of Geneva (group of Prof. Zbinden & Prof. Brunner) and ETH Zurich (group of Prof. Renner)) and industry (in IT-security, blockchain and finance).

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in quantum information and/or computer science (especially cryptography, IT security) and ideally experience in software engineering.
