PhD Position in the Quantum Control for Fundamental Physics Group

The candidate will build a new experimental setup to for quantum control of trapped barium ions as part of a small team. For a short description of the project, see https://n.ethz.ch/~dcraik/. The experiment aims both to search for new physics (using a spectroscopy technique known as isotope shift spectroscopy) and to measure parity violation with an entanglement-enhanced technique. The latter is expected to deliver the most stringent test to date of the low-energy electroweak sector of the Standard Model.
