Experimentalists in the Quantum Light-Matter Lab

Website Department of Quantum Matter Physics, University of Geneva

Postdoctoral and PhD positions are immediately available for experimentalists in the Quantum Light-matter group at the Department of Quantum Matter Physics, University of Geneva, Switzerland.

The funded project is aimed at investigating strongly correlated excitons and electrons in atomically thin materials and their van der Waals (vdW) moiré heterostructures with a goal of creating novel phases of quantum matter and light. Successful candidates will study such phases and their quantum phase transitions arising from the interplay of strong correlations and topology employing low-temperature magneto-optical and quantum optical spectroscopy with high sensitivity and spatial resolution.

We welcome candidates with experience in optical spectroscopy, fabrication of vdW heterostructures, electronic transport, quantum optical spectroscopy and scanning probe microscopy. Interested candidates should email their CVs detailing their research interests and experience to Ajit Srivastava (ajit.srivastava@unige.ch) and a list of 2-3 references.
